Youth Leadership & Mentorship Program
The Youth Leadership & Mentorship Program at Nyumba Ya Agikuyu is designed to empower young people to become confident, culturally grounded, and civically engaged leaders of the future. By combining leadership training, mentorship, and cultural education, the program strengthens youth identity, builds practical skills, and fosters a sense of purpose and responsibility within the community.
Our program offers a Youth Leadership Academy, providing workshops and training sessions focused on leadership skills, problem-solving, and personal development. Through mentorship matching, participants gain guidance from experienced role models who support their growth and help navigate academic, professional, and community pathways. The program also includes civic engagement education, teaching young people how to actively participate in community life, understand their rights and responsibilities, and contribute meaningfully to society.
To prepare youth for the workforce and broader opportunities, we offer career exposure days, connecting participants with professionals across industries. Complementing these activities, our cultural identity and pride workshops help young people explore and embrace their heritage, fostering confidence, belonging, and intergenerational continuity.
